Does compressing an image reduce its visible quality?
At 70–80% quality, the difference is usually invisible to the naked eye while file size is reduced by 50–80%. Only very low settings (below 40%) produce noticeable artifacts.
What formats are supported?
You can upload JPG, PNG, WEBP, and GIF files. JPG and WEBP are compressed using canvas quality encoding. PNG files are kept lossless and re-encoded as PNG.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. All compression happens in your browser using the Canvas API. Your images never leave your device.
What quality setting should I use?
For web images: 70–80% is ideal. For print or archiving where quality matters: 85–95%. For thumbnails and previews: 50–65%.
Can I compress many images at once?
Yes! Upload multiple images in one go and click "Compress All" to process them all, then use "Download All" to save everything.
