How to Add a Prefix or Suffix to Every Line of Text

Adding the same text to the beginning or end of multiple lines is a task developers, writers, and spreadsheet users face constantly. This free tool does it instantly — just paste your text, type your prefix or suffix, and the result is ready.

  1. Paste your list of words, URLs, file names, or any multi-line text into the Input Text box.
  2. Enter the text you want before each line in the Prefix field. For example, type " to add a quote mark to the start.
  3. Enter text for the Suffix field to add to the end. For example, typing ", adds a closing quote and a comma (great for CSV/JSON work).
  4. The Live Result panel updates as you type — no button needed.
  5. Click Copy Result or Download to save your output.
Can I add both a prefix and a suffix at the same time?
Yes! Simply fill in both fields. For example, to wrap every line in double quotes, set Prefix to " and Suffix to ".
Does this tool work on mobile?
Absolutely. The layout adapts to all screen sizes. You can use it on your phone or tablet just as easily as on a desktop.
Is my text stored or uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything runs entirely inside your browser using JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device.
