How to Promote Products as a TikTok Affiliate (Faceless & With Your Face)

By Dr. Priya

Hey there! If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent much time scrolling through TikTok, wondering how people make money by promoting products. I was once in your shoes, trying to figure out how to start as an affiliate and what type of content I should create to get the most sales.

When writing this post, my TikTok account has reached 208.8K followers and 1.9M likes — and it’s been less than two years since I started! It’s been such an exciting journey, and I can’t stress enough how TikTok has been the best platform for me to go viral and turn this side hustle into a real income. If you’re a newbie trying to make it as an affiliate, TikTok is the platform you want to be on. It’s incredible how quickly you can grow here, especially with the right strategies.

So, if you’re thinking about promoting products but are unsure of the type of content to create, I’m here to share three types of content that can work wonders — and the best part? Only one of them requires you to show your face!

1. Faceless Unboxing & Installation Videos

Let’s kick things off with one of my favourite types of content: faceless unboxing videos. You don’t have to worry about showing your face to get results. In fact, some of the top creators on TikTok are generating big bucks with unboxing and installation videos.

Here’s the thing: You don’t have to be on camera to make money on TikTok. For example, I followed a creator with 6,000 followers and generated $148,000 in sales by posting a simple unboxing camera video. There’s no face, just great product details and a clear focus on what makes the product awesome. That’s it!

My tip: Focus on showcasing the product, its features, and why your audience should be interested. You can be creative and highlight aspects that other unboxing videos might miss. The key is to make it engaging without having to show your face.

2. Video Reviews (With Your Face)

If you’re comfortable being on camera, video reviews are your go-to. Showing your face helps to create that personal connection with your audience. Trust me; when they see your reactions and hear about your personal experience, they’ll feel like they can trust your opinion on the product.

For example, one creator I know posted a before and after review of a product and generated $495,000 for the company. He explained his experience with the product and then showed the results. That’s the power of being authentic and relatable.

Why it works: People love genuine reactions. When you speak directly to the camera, your personality and excitement shine through. That personal touch makes your reviews feel authentic and trustworthy.

3. Content About Trending Products (No Product Needed)

This is the best part — you don’t even need the product to start promoting it. If you don’t have a product to review, head to TikTok Shop and find a trending product. Then, go to Amazon and search for the same product (which will likely be more expensive). You can compare prices and shipping details and even point out TikTok’s extra deals — like coupons and free shipping.

The key highlights why people should buy from TikTok and how to get the best deal. It’s easy to make content around trending products and compare prices or features, even without physically having the product in hand.

Pro tip: While this might seem like a no-product content type, it’s actually very effective because you’re still providing value to your audience by pointing them to a good deal.

Consistency Is Key — Keep Posting!

Now, I have to be real with you. It’s not going to happen overnight. When I started, I wasn’t seeing massive results on the first video or even the second. But I kept posting and improving. And that’s exactly what you should do.

The key to success is consistency. Keep posting regularly; trust me, your chances of going viral increase dramatically with each post.

I know it’s frustrating when you don’t see immediate sales, but if you stick with it and stay consistent, you’ll start to see those numbers grow. The more you post, the better your chances of getting noticed.

Final Thoughts — Keep Going!

So, whether you’re showing your face, there are many ways to create engaging TikTok affiliate content. From faceless unboxing videos to personal reviews or even simply promoting trending products, you have many options to explore.

Remember, TikTok is the best platform for growth and virality, especially if you follow these strategies and post consistently.
