Grilled cauliflower steaks with garlic buter,Grilled portabella mushrooms,Salad with Spinach ,sliced red onion,Sliced strawberries, balsamic dressing
gluten free noodles for italian pasta salad
Cheesy hashbrown casserole, fruit salad
For anything with noodles, we just tried these and they are really good.
Gluten free – Barilla gluten free pastas are my favorite. Could make a pasta, potato or broccoli salad. Just make sure the dressings/condiments are gluten free- some condiments, sauces and dressings contain gluten for color and/or thickening.
On that note- check the rub/sauce you’re using for the BBQ.
Marinate tofu or carrot dogs… amazing.
For vegan you could do grilled portobello mushroom sandwiches or something along those lines. Just make sure there is no cross contamination between the meet products.
Fruit salad, grilled veggies
https://www.runninginaskirt.com/rainbow-delicious-chickpea-salad-recipe/ this is my go-to vegan side for potlucks. Feeds a crowd well!
Polynesian noodles. Make the night before, reserve some of the homemade teriyaki sauce to toss in right before serving. Recipe calls for soba noodles, but you can use rice or ramen noodles to substitute the soba.
My daughter must eat gluten free. She told me Kansas City Masterpiece Original BBQ sauce is gluten free.
Bbq jackfruit is delicious and cauliflower steaks are a big hit in this house
I would do a taco bar. Jack fruit for the meat. As long as you provide corn tortilla your meal would be both vegetarian and gluten free.
We did pork loins in a roaster, shred it and add ur fav bbq sauce. Sliders or nachos. Pasta salad, broccoli salad. Chicken.
Chili is gluten free and you could make it vegan by omitting the beef
Vegan Richa’s website is wonderful and you can find lots of great recipes that might work. There is a great recipe for bbq pulled Jackfruit (vegan pulled pork) that looks great, though I haven’t tried it yet. It even has a cole slaw recipe included that you could top the sandwiches with or serve on the side. I have made some of her burgers (she has numerous recipes) and even our non-vegan/vegetarian family members liked them. I do not know how if they can be cooked on a grill, however. She has tons of recipes of all sorts that could work. You could do your entree then beans (even something like Bush’s brand canned vegetarian baked beans could work great, just taste and see if you need/want to add anything else. Other sides that work well with our vegans are tossed or seven layer salad (just use vegan dressings or vegan mayo, in the case of the seven layer salad and soy imitation bacon bits in place of the bacon for the 7 layer. Pasta salad is great with a good italian dressing (just make sure there is no cheese in it) and fresh or oven roasted veggies such as broccoli and carrots and some fresh spinach, black and green olives, and optional vegan meat/pepperoni and/or cheese. A veggie tray or cups with hummus and fresh fruit tray or a fruit salad (such as with watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, pineapple) are nice too. Congratulations to you daughter and her fiance! Best wishes!
Crustless quiche or fritata. Easy to serve at room temp and looks beautiful with a dressed salad.
Jackfruit “pulled pork” would be a good vegan option
I love this easy Red Cabbage & Kale Coleslaw makes a great side dish. Made with a light dressing and roasted pumpkin seeds. https://cafeflavorful.com/red-cabbage-and-kale-coleslaw/
Cauliflower Mac and cheese (gluten free) and Pearl Couscous cook as directed add chopped veggies olive oil and seasoning( vegetarian)
Vegetable lasagna is a great vegetarian and gluten free dish!
I love vegan bbq, not made with jackfruit as I don’t like it, is to use the meatless crumbles. Sauté an onion and a pepper, add the meatless crumbles, stir until blended together nicely. Add ketchup and brown sugar to taste. Add a dash of dry mustard and cinnamon. Serve on a hamburger bun. It’s so good. I also make pierogie casserole, boil lasagna noodles and line them in a greased baking dish (I use vegan butter), layer noodles with mashed potatoes (I use instant that I made with water or veggie broth) and vegan cheese. Keep layering the noodles, potatoes and cheese and the last layer is potatoes and cheese. Bake in oven until cheese is melted and browned. Hint..I’ve found to be so far, the best vegan cheese is Chao made by Field Roast. Their cheddar cheese is delicious.
