Arkansas green beans are what we make for thanks giving. It’s my husbands favorite.
5 cups green beans
10-12 slices of bacon
⅔ cup brown sugar
¼ cup butter, melted
¼ cup soy sauce
2 tsp minced garlic
Cook the bacon crispy then chop in pieces.
Mix the brown sugar, sugar soy sauce and garlic together and pour over the green beans in a baking dish, and then top with the bacon.
Bake in the oven 400 degrees. 35-40 minutes. If you cook your green beans first by steaming then bake for 20 minutes. It takes longer in the oven with fresh’ns. So cook until they are tender.
I toss mine in olive oil (just enough to coat them all) and dry ranch mix. Place them on a foil line cookie sheet (or whatever pan you have) making sure they are all flat and not overlapping. Bake at 400 degrees. Honestly, I don’t know how long I bake them for. Just until they are your level of preferred done. I like mine on the kinda burnt side. Somehow they taste sweeter that way.
