Dirty rice. Just buy any box rice of your choosing, brown your hamburger meat and add to the rice as it cooking. Time saver tip: on your days off precook your hamburger meat , portion it out, freeze it and then you have one step already completed for your cooking during the week.

  6. Hamburger steaks in oven, pad a family pack out in a 9×13 pan season of choice on top of meat then put onion, sliced carrots I use out of a can, sliced potatoes I use out of can, season on top of that, cover and bake til meat is cooked. We usually do 2 pans, big hit in our house

    Green Chile Casserole

Cook hamburger meat with onion and season to taste then set aside. In a sauce pan add velveeta, green Chile cream of chicken soup, and one to 2 cans of water depending on how saucy you want it) stir until melted. Crush tortilla chips into the bottom of a casserole dish, add drained pinto beans, hamburger meat, add cheese sauce, and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350 with foil for 30 to 40 minutes or until bubbly.

Easiest way I get dinner in the table is brown and drain 1 lb beef. Add in one can ranch style or pinto beans. Mix with beef and heat through. If you like a little spice add a can of tomatoes with green chilis. Serve with shredded cheddar and a dollop of sour cream. If I have avocados I slice and add on top. My 61 year old husband loves this either with all the extras or just plain meat and beans.

  10. Hamburger vegetable soup, shepherd’s pie, quesadillas, tacos, burritos, tostadas, nachos, potachos, smothered hamburger steaks with mashed potatoes and Texas toast

    So easy.
Cheese ravioli layers between meat sauce and shredded cheese like lasagna and baked.

Sauté burger. When almost done add onion and minced garlic, once that’s done add 2 tbsp flour and stir. Add broth about 2 cups, Italian seasoning, garlic salt, pepper, pasta (any kind and I don’t measure I just throw a couple big handfuls or a little more in) and stir, add 8 oz tomato sauce simmer until pasta is done. You may have a to add a little more broth if needed. Once done add heavy cream (about 1/2 cup) and any kind of cheese. Stir to melt cheese. My family loves this.

  16. If possible cook some meals ahead on your days off. Meatloaf, maybe a beef roast. These can be frozen after they are cooked. Freeze in meal size portions and take out of the freezer as you need them. Hard boil eggs keep refrigerated they are good for at least a week after boiling. Make egg salad add to tuna salad macaroni salad, pickle them, or just eat plain. Make a big pan of homemade mac and cheese the left overs are good for a second meal

  18. I prepare hamburgers and small meatballs on a a rainy day. A day off and chili Anyways I freeze these for busy days. Also lasagna , and cabbage rice hamburger casserole then each can be eaten at a later date.

  19. I buy the Velveeta sides for a simple back up meal. I found a Salisbury steak recipe (takes about 30 minute). I understand your pain. Up at 4, work 10.5 hours and try for bed at 8.

My family called this Goulash growing up.

Pound of ground beef browned with soy sauce and a dash of Worcestershire sauce plus your fave seasonings.
Add cabbage and a tiny bit of water and then cover until cabbage is to desired tenderness.
Cook rice and then mix all together add more soy and Worcester as desired.

I’d say for every pound of ground beef should be 1 cup of rice.

You can make hamburger patties ahead of time and freeze them.

I love hamburger patties with a side of macaroni and cheese and some green beans. I like all the different colors. And I think I like this combination because my babysitter used to feed us this when I was younger. It’s a happy memory for me.

  34. Make patties and fry in a skillet until almost done. Then mix 1 packet of onion soup mix, 1 Tbsp flour, 1 C water, and 1/2 C milk. Pour it over the patties. Bring it to a boil and then turn the heat down to simmer until the gravy thickens (about 10 min). It goes well with mashed potatoes or rice.
