Hi guys! I am tasked with making macaroni salad for an event this Friday! I know it has macaroni noodles, tuna and Mayo but am unsure of what else goes in it. Can you give your recipes? Much appreciated!

I do noodles, mayo, ranch, bacon, peas, shredded carrots for one type of macaroni salad. For the other I did noodles, canned chicken, pickles, diced onion, celery, and celery salt. If you are having your get together in the heat I suggest getting a bowl bigger then the one your food is in and adding ice to th e bigger bowl filling in the space between that bowl and the one holding your macaroni salad to help keep it cool.

  2. Don’t ruin it with tuna! Tuna and Mayo in what I’m assuming will be an outdoor event 🤮

  3. I have made macaroni salad salad for years, using a box of macaroni & cheese as directed. Add your tuna miracle whip, celery, onion, bell peppers and a drained can of peas.

If you want a traditional type macaroni salad , tuna isn’t in that but I do make a tuna and shell pasta salad that’s very good. Small to medium shell pasta cooked to Al dente stage , drain in colander and blanch with cold water. Gently toss to remove any water trapped inside shells so salad doesn’t become runny. Add 2 to 3 cans of tuna ( drain water or oil) for each pkg. of pasta . Add grated boiled eggs . I use 3 eggs for each 12 to 16 oz package of shell pasta. I use hellmans mayonnaise . Add some celery salt and lemon pepper to the Mayo and mix . Then add to pasta & tuna , toss gently . Add some chopped tomatoes and toss to mix . Chill well before serving . Regular macaroni salad I use elbow mac. Boiled eggs , finely chopped green onions ( white part and some of green tops) , finely chopped celery , hellmans mayonnaise , 1 or more pkg. potato toppers ( in produce section usually) or you can fry bacon crispy and crumble to make bacon crumbles but the potato toppers stay crunchy which I like . I add some canned sweet peas as well. Some celery salt & lemon pepper. If you like a sweet tasting salad use half Hellmans and half miracle whip .Cheddar cheese chopped in small cubes can be added if you like. Chill well before serving.

I put tuna, onions(chopped), olives(halved), cucumber (chopped), peas (mixed in at the end) tuna, macaroni, mayo. Salt and pepper to taste

  6. Also u can make a Italian noodle salad. It’s spaghetti noodles, mini or cut pepperoni, green yellow and red bell peppers cut, cherry tomatoes cut, olives cut, cheese chunks, onion, and Italian salad dressing . Salt and pepper to taste

  7. I have never put tuna in my macaroni salad. I use finely chopped onion, green pepper, and carrots. Mayo and salt and pepper.

  8. Are you making macaroni salad or tuna macaroni salad? I make macaroni salad with elbow noodles, onion, celery, sometimes sweet peppers, sometimes add hard boiled eggs, & mayo.

Tuna salad and macaroni salad are two totally different dishes. Adding tuna to a macaroni salad doesn’t make it a “tuna pasta salad” I have had one of those also!

My husband’s family has always put a can of tuna in their macaroni salad. That is the way a lot of people in this area of PA make it. And the bowl always goes home empty.

Make your macaroni salad as you normally would and add a can of drained tuna to it and see how yummy it is!

I actually use a different noodle style for tuna pasta salad and always use elbow noodles for macaroni salad.

All in what you make it and where you live and how you grew up! 😁

    This is my recipe:
3 cups of macaroni, cooked, drained, cooked. 3 boiled eggs chopped, 1 can drained tuna, 2tblsp sweet relish, Mayo/miracle whip, mustard to consistency you desire. (Can add onion and celery if you want)

  19. Can add so many things! I like to put cucumbers in mine, relish, sometimes a big of spicy mustard, chopped tomatoes, can use a different protein too if you want, like chopped kielbasa. I’ve seen people put peas in theirs too. Check Pinterest, TONS of ideas on there!

  20. I used sandwich spread, it already has flavors in it. Eggs, noodles, peppers, onions, I add bacon bits. I’ve never heard of it with tuna.

It depends on what kind of macaroni salad the one with tuna we do tuna, green onions , chopped hard boiled eggs a little salt and pepper and mayo. We also do one which is like a veggie macaroni salad with celery , green onions, radish, green bell pepper, carrots a little salt and pepper and mayo.

  22. Elbow noodles , miracle whip mayo mixed with a little mustard, chopped celery, onion, green pepper and if you like just a little chopped dill pickle. Mix together and refrigerate. I don’t put tuna in this but I guess if you wanted to you could
